So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on what is the hardest Dave song to play. Sure, he has some weird chord shapes, but what song was the hardest to learn/sing with? I'm just talkin Dave, not Tim (all his stuff is insane anyways).
I would have to say that Crash Into Me is the hardest to play and sing to. He comes in at what seems like random times, but it all seems to work out and sound great. Maybe it's because I'm a novice as far as guitar goes, but it is just really hard to sing to.

Crash Into Me was simple for me. I actually have more problems with Proudest Monkey and Typical Situation.
The hardest though has got to be You Never Know.

how about fool to think. i have trouble just singing along with the CD let along singing and playing at the same time! dave really just sings a care free melody over an already complicated rhythm.

Have'nt really tried fool to think, but crash I got after a while. It can be a little tricky to keep the triplet rythm and sing the melody. The hardest for me right now though would be so much to say.

yeah, Crash is one of the "easier" ones to get. Fool to Think is TOUGH, so is Loving Wings, and So Much To Say, What Would You Say, Proudest Monkey, Typical Situation, ........ are all tough to sing and play at the same time, but with practice they might just come to ya.
The Stone took me forever, and so did Tripping Billies, but they're my favorites to play now.........oh and Warehouse.....and Two Step is very tough to sing and play simultaneously........GOOD LUCK......It's all good
don't even get me started on You Never Know and Rapunzel .....shhhhhheeeesh... great stuff nonetheless and yes I am DRUNK
peace,
Ken
good, and you?

Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

Typical Situations is HARD! I mean playing and singing and counting backwards! How many things am I supposed to be able to do at once?!?
Ha, ok just kidding...
The Stone was fairly challenging but I just broke it down and focused on when to enter with vocals. After that, I had it tackled in no time.
I learned You Never Know a few weeks ago and I thought it was going to be a lot harder than it was - here's to jkanter and his awesome tab!
I have NO desire to learn Fool to Think....it's an ok song but it just doesn't appeal to me that much.
After playing Dave for so many years I've just kinda grown accustomed to his style so nothing is really THAT hard....I just know I need to sit down and practice it if I want to get it right. The hardest part for me is remembering all the lyrics to all the songs bouncing around in my head.

I never thought that TS was hard...actually its the first song i learned so i thought it was really easy. I jus learned The Stone not too long ago,it wasnt too bad. In my Oppinion i thought Satellite was/is really hard i dont know why but its tought for me.
Peace

TS is easy all the way...but the thing i think they are trying to say is that it may be too simple that it gets confusing at times (i am stricktly talking about singing with it too)...however, you can throw the lyrics in almost anywhere...why not, Dave does...its not like R&R for instance in the sense that you must sing at just the right times to make it sound good...TS you can slurr a bit more...just my 2 cents

"Hate was just a legend, war was never known"-DJM/Neil Young
I don't think that Dave should even get mentioned there...

Holla back to my fellow RIC DMB player.
Yeah, you guys are right, compared to other songs, Crash into me is pretty easy. I'm just startin to get comfortable with playin dave stuff, so everything's hard for me.
I mean, I think in general, it's amazing how Dave can play these tough riffs while he's singing. Props to all you who have mastered these songs (especially our beloved dmbtabs.com tabbers!). Keep the replies coming, though, I wanna get everyone's opinion...
