Stone, Revisited

Unread post by geekmug » Wed Feb 18, 2004 9:04 pm

I revisted an old recording 'cause it's the end of quarter and I don't have time to build a whole song again.. but I redid the vocals.. 'cause I think I sound ok now.. I've been working at it.. but if I still sound like crap, I need someone to go "hey dude, you still suck" .. so please let me know

I usually don't like to give terse reviews, but I suppose there's a first time for everything:

That was pretty badass.

Be excellent to one another.

that was sweet.
the intro was mad-phat-yo
pretty solid guitar
decent drums
a little work on vocals on the chorus
overall it was pretty sweet, nice job

you were still flat the entire time. last time i said you sounded like a dying cat, but i will promote you to a drunken zombie on this one.

of course the instruments were still spot on, but the vocals still need tons of work

I've never heard the first time you did this, so the guitar and instruments sound awesome. The vocals do need some work, it sounds like you aren't trying, like you are falling asleep or something. Keep working on um you'll get um.

i wasn't being mean for the sake of being mean, geekmug is one of the most talented people on here, and the more talented you are the more harsh im gonna be in my criticism of your work. having a bunch of people tell you how awesome and great you are isn't going to do them a damn bit of good.

i had critiqued this same recording before, and was a lot more harsh. geekmug was most likely expected this from me and was prepared for it.

if im harsh about anyone's recording, its because i see talent and i want them to cultivate it into something better

you can be contructively critical without being mean, and if you can't, then that's something that i would think you should work on

im just being honest and telling him what he sounded like, i dont think you can argue with me that his vocals were rough

oh i'm not, but i do think there is a difference between saying you had trouble with the vocals or the vocals were rough and "you sounded like a drunken zombie"

i'm gonna start callin you simon :)

i guess that makes me paula abduaslkdf

which means i have a nice rack

wanna go on a date?

the only reason i made the zomibe comment was to make an allusion to the post i made critiquing the original recording, in which i said he sounded like a dying cat. and that post was made mainly in jest
