So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I've never really tried/practiced stairway, but I practiced the hell out of Tripping Billies. It was one of the first songs I learned or tried to learn. I've been playing for about 4 years and I learned that 2 or 3 years ago. It's definately fucking fun to play, but a bitch to get that Nature stretch for the intro and verse, but it comes eventually.
good, and you?

The thing about billies, is that when you see dave play it, you are in in pure amazement. So when you finally learn how to play it you actually feel a sense of accomplishment.

I know i should feel that after I learned warehouse, but it came really easy, so i don't, really.

kind of related (& very subjective) question: How many of you learned how to play Guitar because of DMB?

For me it was when i saw Dave and Tim play crash on storytellers and i'd never touched a guitar in my life. the rest they say is history.

I could always strum a couple of chords, but when I started listening to Dave and I started trying to play songs like BOWA and Crush, I just loved them so much that I kept wanting to play more and more.

To answer your question, YES.
good, and you?

Ever Since i saw Micheal J Fox Play Johnny B Good in Back To The Future i have wanted to play Guitar. I started playing a few years ago but not really seriously. then i was watching a Skating video (VG7) and they had this badass section where they were skating to "the stone". and that song hooked me on DMB. it took me like a month before i found out it was DMB. i had hated them before. That's still my favorite song and album but now i'm a fan 4 life. word.

I'll see D+T (and some of you i bet) at Purdue.

i wouldnt say stariway to heaven is zeppelins right of passage

they have a lot better songs than that, and a lot harder
and most true zep fans dont like that song at all
Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

I'm one of them. I loved Dave's music so much, I figured by playing his songs on a guitar would take me to the next level. I just got serious about it within the past couple months, and am havein a ball!!!

Problem is (not a big problem) I only play DMB, any advice on what some other good stuff is out there worth learning?
Why won't you ever be glad, it melts into wonder-ahhhhhhhh!
