Statistical highlights of the show include the first ever full-length release of Blue Water after partial Dave solo and Dave & Tim releases. To this point, it had the most plays in concert without being released (a position now most likely held by Spotlight, with Big Whiskey songs right behind). This is also only the third release for True Reflections. With this release, the only years left without a full released show are 1991, 1992, 1997 and 2009.

The second show is May 10, 1995, the second night at The Warfield Theatre in San Francisco. This is the second show played that week to be released, with May 5th released as Live Trax Volume 12. The first night of this stand spread wildly in the infancy of digital downloading and trading, coupled with the famous Yoshi’s radio show that took place the same day as this show (Yes, Dave. It's that version). The audience recording of this show spread very slowly and the sound was distant enough that probably only completists have given it the full run through. The rarity gem of this show is easily Don’t Burn the Pig. The song made its debut earlier in the day during the radio show in an acoustic setting, making this somewhat of a true debut.

Don’t Burn the Pig and Blue Water join Get In Line, Funny How Time Slips Away, After the Gold Rush » Ohio and Stranger in a Strained Land as songs without released full versions until the inception of the DMBlive series (the latter two songs are Tim Reynolds solos).

Not lost in the mix is this week’s release of Live Trax Volume 16 from June 26, 2000 in Cincinnati that includes rare releases of nascent songs Sweet Up and Down (2nd release), JTR (5th release) and Digging a Ditch (6th release). Also fans are treated to a small taste of the unreleased and unplayed Build You a House which is after the Grey Street track.

With forty-four full shows released now, Ants Marching has been released the most (34 times, including 27 of the 44 full shows). Tripping Billies follows with 27 releases (19/44) with Warehouse at 26 (21/44). Check out the full list of officially released songs here.

The DMBLive Series seems to be what I expected the Live Trax releases to be.

... how DID his voice change so drastically, it wasn't the yeast infection, that was afterwards

Yep.

The 04.10.93 Bayou show is a perfect example of what I hoped the Live Trax series would be: good early shows where the recordings we have don't sound so great, or in the case of the Bayou show, we don't have a recording at all. The 06.11.96 Garden State Arts Center show is one of my favorites and it would be great to have a SBD copy to replace the old AUD version I have.

I think its great that they are finally releasing some of these older shows, but I wish they would press these DMBLive shows as Live Trax and release actual cds for sale with art work and liner notes and the whole package. The 2 Roseland Ballroom shows from '95 would have made for a much better release than the Vegas show from '07 we got.

The problem it seems with these DMBLive releases is that they aren't multi-track recordings and mastered in a studio. Or at least they sound like that.

So the version of 01.27.93 they have for sale is essentially the SBD copy I got for free from Dreamingtree?
