I'm heading out there tonight, too. Glad I missed Seven, Smooth Rider, Bayou and yet another PNP » Rapunzel in the encore. Sorry I missed Nancies and The Stone. They teased YNK last night so I really hope they bust that out tonight.markTR wrote:Man am I glad I chose to go tonight and not last night. Pretty weak set

Great fucking show tonight. Proudest Monkey opener was a total surprise! Pig, Dreaming Tree, YNK (fucking money!), full band Gravedigger, #41, R&R and Halloween (again? *yawn*) are always winners. The new stuff sounded great and I'm glad they played Dive In and Time Bomb. Awesome, awesome show.
And, yes, Jonathan we made a point to get there in time for Umph. We got to our spot just as Dave came out to announce them. After my recent Mantis obsession I wasn't going to miss them. They had one of the bigger crowds I've seen there for an opening act. They were awesome and played a few tunes from Mantis (of course) which made me happy.

Great show. You Never Know alone made it worth going (even though they kind of fucked up the beginning), Proudest Monkey > Satellite opener was really cool, and DT, Pig, R&R, #41 were great. Carter was unreal, they broke Two Step down in the middle and let him solo and I swear I thought he was going to slam on the snare/bass drum and go straight into Halloween right there.
The only lows of the night were
Out of My Hands- this song can DIAF, just because they speed it up a little at the end and Dave does some wailing doesn't make it any better
Funny The Way It Is- Dave said he originally wasn't going to play it but some kid asked him to before the show saying it was his favorite song- brutal
Gravedigger- I don't really care for this song, but if I have to listen to it I'd rather it be solo
Thank You- Campy, not that great, the bros around me loved chanting it. Whatever
Overall a great time, probably one of the best shows I've seen. Reaffirmed every negative stereotype I have about the DMB fan base, but the band seemed to be having a lot of fun and the music was awesome

I couldn't agree more. I REALLY thought they were going into Halloween there. I almost lost my shit at the possibility. But it was a good feeling pretty much knowing we were getting it in the encore.
Edit - Setlist. Note the encore. Nice!
