I don't get the "if LWS were finished" thing. That album destroys no matter what.

I understand what you're saying, but there are a few layers and some spit shining missing.

I don't get how everyone puts LWS so high but Busted Stuff down so far. I love that album.

I like BS as well, but I just feel that the heart of those LWS songs is not present on the BS versions. I also don't like some of the changes they made to the songs like shortening Grey Street and the cold blue ice part and also completely ruining Captain. Plus they left off JTR, SUAD and Monkey Man.

Yeah, I can see that. The loss of that rawness and darkness is noticeable, and those are 3 really good songs we lost. But we did get YNK, which is better than all 3. And I agree about Grey Street, but I never felt that Captain was ruined. I like it just as much on BS.

LWS Captain >>>>> BS Captain

The "why should I" part from the LWS is so much better

I agree. I think LWS Captain is one of the greatest studio moments for this band. The breakdown is absolutely incredible. I hate that they took that out on BS and changed it into a generic love song lyrically.

I think the LWS and Busted Stuff are on equal levels. When one has a fault, the other has a plus. Like Grey Street's first 2 verses on BS have power that the Grey Street on LWS doesn't seem to have, however the length and passion is missing on the BS version but is there on the LWS version. Raven seems much more stable on the BS version, but it's lyrics aren't as intriguing as on the LWS version. While WAYG is a good song, it's not as great as SU&D, however SU&D sounds dead on the LWS and WAYG sounds so much alive on BS. I could go on, but you get the point.

So, I mark them at the same level.

My thinking as well.

And saxman, you're out of your mind with that list.
Maybe, maybe not, it is an opinion after all. The order I listed them is based on how much I enjoy them personally, I haven't listened to BTCS in a long time because I just don't dig it as much as I used to when I first got it. I would imagine my opinion will change in time, but that is how I see it right now. Crash has some great songs too, but I just like Big Whiskey a lot because it has a great vibe about it. I think we can all agree that Stand Up was absolute shit though, I can think of only 1 tune that I actually really really like and that is Louisiana Bayou, everything else just sucks to be honest.
DMB shows attended: 4/12/05 - Molson Amphitheater, 9/12/06 @ Air Canada Centre.

Of all the tunes to pick you go with Bayou

If I absolutely had to pick a song from that album as a "favorite" it'd probably be American Baby (I love Hello Again, but not that bullshit on the album. Also, YMDT is cool live but the drum track serving as Carter kills it)

Remember how they pretend that Hello Again doesn't exist?
