They're ripped from youtube so the quality is pretty terrible.

OMG I love Shake Me and Time Bomb. Granted, they are not typical DMB, but who cares. They are awesome songs. It seems to me that alot of the people who aren't into the new stuff are stuck in the UTAD, and BTCS days. Bands change over time.

Shake Me is growing on me. I must admit that I like Time Bomb, except that it's ridiculously disjointed.

god, it's like they're trying so hard to be something they are not, it just sounds so forced. Dave really needs to ditch the band (in the studio) and make another solo album.

I don't know why, but all of a sudden I'm insulted the band is trying to sell this off as their best record ever.

Seriously. I understand that they want to expand and do new things (and that they are trying to move units), but they can't be so clueless as to believe that this stuff is better than their early work.

I agree. I think this goes right back to the mentality they had when the did Stand Up. They were so excited about it, but in the end, even the band admitted that it wasn't their best work. I think the band as a whole keeps getting sucked into a new way of doing things in the studio, even if it doesn't do the best job of bringing out the bands talent.

I believe that there are only a couple of ways this band is going to put out an album that comes close to the quality of their pre-Everyday stuff:
1.) Dave takes back primary songwriting responsibilities.
2.) The band hires Steve Lillywhite to produce their next album.
3.) ???
4. )Profit.

Sadly, #4 is the only thing likely to happen despite the obvious lack of quality product.

I agree they need Lillywhite, they aren't disciplined enough on their own. And Busted Stuff doesn't count because all the songs were already written.

Site has got a couple 30 second clips of some songs. You and Me sounds pretty bad, as does Dive In.

I have one question for everyone, why do we spend so much time harping on the guys for what they do in the studio when we know they do their best work on the road. I mean, I don't know about you guys, but I didn't become a dmb fan because of their studio albums, it was the live stuff (Red Rock '95) that got me. I think we have all seen the band take a half ass album song and turn it into an awesome live song. For example, on stand up, you might die trying is boring, even when they played it back on the '05 tour it was not that good. But now, when they play it live, i think its one hell of a song. I think the same can be said for Hello Again, Raven, Big Eyed Fish, So Right, Louisiana Bayou, and Hunger for the Great Light. Though some of these songs were not that good on the studio album, live there are great. I think we need to let up on the guys and wait until they play some of this new stuff live and get a feel for it.
