im writing a song, wanted to knwo some good sounding progressions for f#m
any suggestions

what kinda of chord is it if you form an f#m but you dont fret the e and b strings, is it still the same thing?

you could play 09(11)(11)(10)0 (EF#C#F#AE, b7|1|5|1|b3|b7 in the F#maj scale) to make a F#m7. i love playing x44220 though

edit: err.... 09(11)(11)00 i guess could be considered an F#7(no3rd) maybe? im no expert, thats just my guess. ive used it in place of an F#m occasionally. without the 3 or b3 it doesnt make it a major or minor.

I'm guessing you mean:
044200
or the "Hootie Chord" as I like to call it. It is an F#m7add4/E

no I meant 244200 or 2442xx not that I couldnt use the ohter ones like the Hootie
