As long as Dave is not the sole songwriter it's going to be sub-par. Unfortunately, they fired the only producer who's understood that. Dave Matthews is the songwriting talent in the band (see: Some Devil). How that's not glaringly obvious to everyone else in the band is beyond me.

Maybe sharing the credit and having the band is more important to Dave than putting out the best music he can as a solo artist. I could see that.
I think this post is dead on. Some devil is proof enough, that CD has great songs, which sound a lot better (to me anyway) played by full band dmb+tim.

It would be inspiring to see tim play a non-overdriven guitar, like in the old days (eg: red rocks 95).

What are you confused about? The only thing I found odd was that the deluxe version did not include the vinyl.

I want the vinyl and the CD with bonus tracks, but that's not an option. Weak.

hey, is there an interview with Lillywhite about the Lillywhite Sessions, I wanna know what are the chances for the band to repent and go back to work with him on the next studio album (if they make another one)... That's why I wanna know was Lillywhite pissed about getting fired or was it all on good terms

I call shenanigans on having to pay above the price of the deluxe package to ensure you have it on the release date. Bullshit. I know the "extra" songs will suck too. I am such a sucker.

based on the title alone, I'm pretty sure Lying in the Hand of God will be Stolen Away Pt. 2.
