Christmas Song variation?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Christmas Song variation?

Unread post by jazzersize » Sun Nov 10, 2002 10:51 pm

In the tab thats here for christmas song, it sounds like dave plays the verse part that way some of the time, but what i think he does (and it sounds pretty good too!) is this: (k, i dunno how to post tab easily here so here goes...)

this is what is on the site:

E:------------------------
B:------------------------
G:-7---7--0--------------- <---4
D:-4\5-4--0--7-----7--0--5-- <---1(4on7&5)
A:-------------4\5--4--0--2-- <---1
E:------------------------

but instead i think he does a hammer on at the end of this...

D:7-----7--------5-----
A:4\5---4---0h2---------

does that make sense? check it out.

I thought it sounds like this too, but never mentioned it because i thought timmy was playing the hammer on part. if you look at the chicago video, he doesnt do a hammer on, but who knows, it's probably just another variation.
