I have a 1998 Taylor 514ce. I like the sound of the cedar top... it's a little more mellow than spruce. The guitar is a great all around guitar. The only thing I would change about Taylor's is the shape of the neck. The 1 3/4" nut width took some getting used to (I was used to 1 11/16"). Now, I like the 1 3/4", but the neck is a little thin.. front to back. I have an old Takamine that has a thicker neck... it just feels better in my hand. My next purchase will probably be a Martin dred... maybe like an HD-28.

BigSpeen, you got rid of the 310? Ah, man... I thought that was gonna' be your guitar for life. Well, you can always pick up another Taylor or a Martin later.

420's real. The TGF can fill you in with the details: http://www.Taylorguitarforum.com.

Couldn't be more happy with my '03 714ce. Check the Sig. Got a new Guitar on the way.

Me too! Everything about it is kick ass! I am unworthy of such a fine instument. I hope Ill grow into it like a pair of pants from sasquach. It mike take a while though, sasquach is pretty big...... I figured I might not have money again for a long while so I might as well take advanage of it while I could.

anxiously awaiting my 2004 custom 614ce. yup I sold the cocobolo 814ce to get this bad boy. it kinda sucks not having a Taylor for a while, I like my Takamine, but its no Taylor!
