So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

It's not bad, it's different, it's not what one would expect from Dave Matthews...But you know, I'm sure the man just wanted to try something new, something different...So if you don't like Everyday, then don't buy it, and please stop whining...
You can't expect a musician as versatile as Dave Matthews to produce an album with the same sound as "Under the Table and Dreaming" or "Crash" everytime you want some more Dave...
There are always posts about growing as a guitarist...Well let the man grow!...You may not like the more electric/baritone sound of Everyday, but obviously he did or he wouldn't have put it out...
Ok...I think I'm done...
Thank you....And remeber, people like you...
that is a bunch of friggin bullshit. Let him grow!!!?!!? Yeah, Growing= some stupid fuckhead manager holding your hand while you write music, dictating everything that's recorded.
God Damnit, Everyday NEEDS to be ragged on as much as possible because it wasnt even a Matthews album. Some stupid shithead that's more worried about money than the welfare of Dave and his fans wrote it. 2 WEEKS!!! thats how long it took the WHOLE album to be made, what a bunch of crap. The band even thinks it's "the best" album they have written...I almost broke my TV when I saw Carter hold up the record chart for "Space Between" and says, "this is our best music"..........bull fuckin shit...that just shows how fuckin stupid society is, that it will let EVERYDAY reach the top and not CRASH or BTCS or any other album...Just like fuckin Nsync and Britney are at the top...thats where Everyday fits...
Dave should be ashamed of himself for letting someone else write his music... I mean come on.
everyday as an album sucked
but you must admit there were a few good songs on it
i like when the world ends, what you are, if i had it all
on the other hand, mother father = worst dave song ever
i think the album had a lot of potential but it was too rushed
they could have made it so much better by jamming on some of the songs instead of keeping them short like most mainstrem music today
and i hate anyone who disses that breakdown riff in everyday
thats one of my favorite dave riffs

Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

dave's performance of everyday on the tribute to heroes is one of my favorite recordings. i dont have the album, though, with so much bad talk about it...
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...

Wow, so much angst on these boards. I was simply saying everyday was not an good album as a whole. There were some good songs, most not.
Yes, I am Indian and I play the guitar. Believe It.

that's a really good question(whether or not dave surfs the net for himself). i'm sure he has but after interviews like the carson daily show i don't think dave's an avid computer nerd. i think carter is though......
not a nerd, but well, you understand. but songs like what you are are good little hints that dave does think about what others think of him. its got to be a huge stress, especially since atleast every guitar player whose listened to his songs basically worship him....as they should.
everyday, i love the albulm. thought that was bad, i loved mother father. if you were a guitar player would you not take the opportunity to play with carlos santana? and those who say that the album was made because of the record label, you have to understand what a huge stress it must be to be dave. i think the everyday album came out right when it was supposed to. he already had three hit albums before, reality has to kick in somewhere. everyday was a real album where all the songs basically were written in the present from all the success and "all eyes on him" time. i loved the album, i listen to the album and i think all the songs are excellent. dave writes songs for himself, not his fans.........this isn't a flame message, everthings cool. just my opinion.

Only problem with that was alot of it was not dave writing it was Glen Ballard. "Nickle or a Dime I'll do the time" I could almost hear that in an Aerosmith song. For the most part I thought Everyday sucked, and if you'll listen to interviews with the other band members a while after it came out you can kinda hear that sentiment as well. Things like Everyday was Dave and Glen's album(you kinda had to hear the way it was said). I will say though that it did have a few redeeming tracks. Personally I liked "Everday" "WTWE" and "If I had it all". If I had it all kinda sums everyday up for me......If I had it all.....I'd fuck it up.
