Would really like some help putting the finishing touches on "Milo" by Matt the Electrician
Here is a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HNO11qhTWU
Here is a sample of the song:
https://www.yousendit.com/download/TTZu ... V3l4dnc9PQ
And here is what I have so far:
Code: Select all
Capo 2
Verse
e---3----------- -0---2---0-
B---0----------- -0---2---1-
G---0---0h2----- x2 then -0---2---0-
D---0----------- -2---4---2-
A-1/2----------- -2---4---3-
E-2/3----------- -0---2---3-
^^^
Not sure about the 2nd little riff/chord
Chorus
e---0---3---- -0---2---
B---1---3---- -0---3---
G---0---0---- then -0---2---
D---2---0---- -2---0---
A---3---2---- -2--(0)--
E---3---3---- -0---x---
I've got a couple of notes of the solo figured out; I'll update it when I get home. It's a bunch of notes from an A Chord (5th fret) and a D or E down around the 12th (on the high strings)

The second part of the riff you're talking about is just that hammer on played with a d chord. I have a test in a few minutes, Ill try to figure the solo out when I get home

No problem. I haven't done anything with the solo yet, but at the moment I can tell you that the F#m you have after the Em, should be a Bm.

Appreciate it man. I'll give it shot when I get home.

I agree. Nice job on the solo too, might not be note for note but I get the gist of it.

Anyone wanna take a stab at this?

I've got the basics down but I can't figure out some of the quick lines he throws in here. On another note, I can't believe how much better John Mayer's music has gotten over the last few years.

its a few different voicings of Dm7 G7 and Cmaj7
Whole tune is:
Dm7 / G7 / Cmaj7 / Cmaj(alt)
In the chorus I'd use these voicings as they have the melody on top:
Dm11 : 10 x 10 10 8 x
G13 : 3 x 3 4 5 x
C : x 3 5 5 5 x
Calt
The lick and some other substitutions you can use are here:
http://www.azchords.com/m/maroon5-tabs- ... 48487.html
edit: Piano plays this in the intro:
Dm7 / G7 / Cmaj7 / fill
Dm7 /G13 / C / C6

Can someone point me in the right direction for A Pillow of Winds by Pink Floyd? First of all, is it in open E tuning, standard, or something else? I can't find any really good tabs or videos anywhere.

Just curious. What is your definition of altered? I guess I'm wondering you mean by Cmaj (alt). Like, #11 or #5? Because it's not like you'd use a b9 or #9 over a major chord typically, and I generally consider "altered" to mean b9, #9, #11, #5. In fact I've never seen a maj chord referred to as altered.
Sorry, blazed inquiry.
