Dave and his fellow Grammy performers

Unread post by patrickw25 » Mon Feb 09, 2004 10:48 am

With all due respect to Dave and his nice Beatle's tribute, how blown away was I by the White Stripes? That was some of the most inspired and ferocious playing I've ever seen, I have a totally new respect for Jack White as a player, I think he has a few more chops than I realized. And also (no matter what I think of her as person) doesn't it seem as though Christina Aguilera is just on a whole nuther level vocally? Poor Martina Mcbride (who has one of the best voices in country) sounded absolutely flat after Christina. I guess she just has one of those 1 in a billion voices.

p.s. I think Christina was backstage pulling the plug on Celine's mike as Celine was probably her closest competition, but Celine was alright considering she couldn't hear herself at all and what she was hearing probable had a short delay coming from the house speakers.

i didn't like any of the performances cept for the beatles tribute and most of the funk jam.... like every thing was combining respectable musicians with crappy pop artists....and justin timberlake can go fuck off.

Where were you guys when I started the official J.T. sucks thread? I think we have a lot closet Timberlake fans on these boards. :D
All I know about Jack White is that he is not the 17th greatest guitarist of all time (according to Rolling Stone). Thats the biggest load of horse shit I have ever seen.

I think the Foo Fighters are seriously under-rated. I just wish they didn't sell out so often.

I wish they would present more awards instead of some of the performances...IMHO...

I love the Foo Fighters, but Dave Grohl's voice is terrible

yeah, what the hell does Rolling Stones know. They dont report musicianship, they report popularity. Unfortunatly, musicianship is deminishing more these days and its sad because soon we are gonna end up appreciating some horseshit techno band. Foo Fighters are awsome and I dont mind Daves voice either, but what the hell, they make good music. I think they should have more performances, just less hip hop performances. Be Bop should be the theme of the next Grammys

I thought the funk thing was the best part. Robert Randolph is badass and anything with Samuel L. is usually cool.
