So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

yo what model Larrivee do you have? I'm thinking of buying an L-03.
Larrivee are possibly the best all around guitars. period.

yeah you got a deal there. Was it used?
Nope, it was brand new at Guitar Center. In fact, it had just come in that day and I got it right out of the box....I was the first and only person to have it, fresh from the factory.

For any one to say that a Taylor is overated or looks like shit is like saying Dave is overated. And we all know the only people who say that are the ones who never sat down and actully listened to him or in this case one (Taylor). The sound may be to bright for you taste, I own a 914c and a Martin DM3MD both are awsome but I get more complements on the Taylor for apperance.

Don't mind me, I'm just jealous of all y'all Taylor owners and especially you who owns a DM3MD
I'm saving up for a Larrivee L-05
good, and you?

err...
1) i don't judge dave by his guitar, i judge him by his talent thank you very much.
2) you can't accuse grave or myself of "not listening" to either dave or other guitars, **edited out, my fit of rage is over now**

I have played them both, and nice ones of each. Martins are a more traditional sound, especially for the strummy strummy players, or the hard flatpickers. Taylors are much more suited to fingerstyle stuff, IMO, and I prefer my 714 to any Martin I've ever played, and I've played some very nice ones, including HD-35's, the Clapton model, and a bunch of others. It's a matter of taste and style in the end.

Have you ever played any Larrivees? and if so, how did you like them? I'm thinking strongly about buying one within the next 10 years.
good, and you?

I play a midtolate 80's Alvarez with Martin Thinline
Gold + Pickup system and a Danelectro Baritone (looks just like Dave's Jerry Jones but mine's commie Red).

I have a Martin D-15, which I love for the great bassy tone. I also have an Ibanez acoustic/electric, which is cool because it has more of a springy light sound to it. I also have a Johnson 12-string and a Fender strat. I prefer Martins over Taylors, based on the different models of guitars that I've been able to compare. Don't get me wrong, Taylors are nice, but Martins are more suited (IMO) to getting some of the same sounds that Dave gets.......

sup all. I play an Alvarez WY-1 Natural. Designed by Bob Weir, played by Ani Difranco.

There's a pic. I have to agree that taylors aren't all that when it comes to strumming. I've always thought they're kinda of bright and thin soundin. They look amazing though. Martins are pretty coo. I have a friend that is a manager at guitar centers and she has a few. What happened to Guild? I almost bought a Martin but decided on the Alvarez instead. The Alvarez has such a Fat, Thick, Bassy sound.

He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.
