Looking for advice on a song with Barre Chords.

This is the place to talk about guitar playing not done by Dave! Topics about techniques, styles, theory, and other guitarists go here.

i would love to give advice, but cant do that cause i have the hardest time getting my fingers to "snap" into barre chords. F's are damn near impossible to hit and keep a song flowing...sorry.

technically those are "power chords", not barre chords. Barre chords refer to the full 5 or 6 string barring chords:
"A powerchord is a chord which contains no 3rd (suspended chords, and chords containing 3 or more notes exempted). Technically, a powerchord is not really a true "chord" because, by definition, a "chord" has to have a minumum of 3 notes. Powerchords are also called "5" chords, notated as C 5."

and from what i rememeber in videos, kurt cobain played it like this:

Code: Select all

-----------------------------------------------
--------------------3--3--------------------
---3--3-3--X--X--X--3--3--------------------
---3--3-3--X--X--X--3--3--------------------
---3--3-3--X--X--X--1--1--------------------
---1--1-1--X--X--X---------------------------
