Im fairly new to guitar, only been playing for about 10mos to a year. Today I learned a couple of songs THANKS TO DMBTABS.com but I noticed a pattern in a few songs:
12--11--9--7--6--4--2 (#s = fret#)
Now that may not be a complete scale, or a scale at all.. But I noticed it in LIOG, and Two Step, Seek Up, Trippin Billies, etc. etc. etc.
Is that a Scale, and if so, what chord is that a scale of.. or am I completely way off in everything I am saying? ..hah.
Question about a scale...maybe?

Uh oh. I'm going to hold back and not confuse the shit out of you which I have a tendancy to do.
The simple answer is yes. The patterns your seeing in each of these songs are just notes from the scale played in a certain order.
You'll notice that LIOG and Billies have a lot of the same chord shapes and that's because they are in the same key- B minor. You'll also notice that Two Step and Seek up have a lot of the same notes/chords because they are both in the key of D minor. As far as what order they are played in that is up to the composer.
Thats all I'm going to say cause this stuff can get really consfusing. Go to http://www.guitarnoise.com and check out the begginers section on theory. This stuff gets really confusing really quick so you have to apply yourself in order ot learn it. My advice is to read it and read it again and again and again etc. A constant repitition of these concepts is the only sure way of learning them.
Peace out.
