making my Martin a acoustic/electric
ok, I just got a Martin D-2R 6 string guitar. I love the sound of it, and I would like to make it electric. What are my options? My friend did this to one of his acoustic guitars and there is a big pickup on there and it looks really sloppy. Can I take it somewhere to get a internal pickup put in it and have the female plug be where the strap holder is now? I wouldnt be doing any of the work myself, I want to take it to a shop to have it done. thanks for any help in advance.....

i dont wanna drill any holes so i guess a preamp is out of the picture. I would just like a pickup that connects on and can be removed. Is there anyway to re-route the cord of am I going to have to have a big cord comming out of my sound hole?
DMBfan63 - I really like the Neo-D on that site. I have no problem spending more money to get a better sound. Is there anything lke the Neo-D but a little better?

I have no idea about the Neo-D but with the fishmen matrix and natural, they are both bottom peg pickups.. as in the place where you plug them in is where you usually strap your strap onto.. dave has them like this as well.. you can still put a strap on the peg, but instead of that screw on or push in peg, it is the pick-up jack your putting your strap on.. get what i'm saying?

Also another question, whats the deal with the ones that have little wires instead of actual "pick-up looking" ones like this??

If that's what you would like, then I would recommend the brand new soundhole pickup LR Baggs announced at NAMM (the M1). Everyone's been raving about it.6_strings_for_life wrote:i dont wanna drill any holes so i guess a preamp is out of the picture. I would just like a pickup that connects on and can be removed.
