#36, aint it funny how time slips away, all along the watchtower, angel from montgomery, blue water baboon farm, cortez the killer, crash into me, dancing nancies, for the beauty of wynona, gulf coast highway, halloween, if i had a boat, lie in our graves, proudest monkey, the deed is done, typical situation, wild horses if you know how to tune to drop d, reconcile our differences and bartender are easy too
that sounds good and all, exept that over half of those songs you named are not Dave's

and i think naming 19 songs to a beginner kills the point---he was asking for a couple easy things to get him started

Crash, PFWYG, DDTW, and Proudest Monkey
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I would LOVE to hear you play those. Throw a recording up in the recording forum.

I have been trying to get the stone perfect for about a year with singing and it goes to hell quickly. I consider myself a good guitarist and I think I pick up things relitivley quickly (drumming helps).

I'm with you! I've been playing for 8 years and I can usually pick up most songs very quickly but The Stone is a whole different beast. I still can't sing and play it at the same time and I've been trying for about 6 months. I might get lucky every now and then but the timing of when he starts each line of the verse is hard for me for some reasons

Youve been playing guitar for three months, or just Dave for three months, if its the latter I can understand, but thats still a stretch. If you picked up a guitar 3 months ago for the first time, I dont believe that and I doubt anyone would, sorry but its just pretty far fetched. A recording would be nice to hear though.
