Good Songs to play in a band...

This is the place to talk about guitar playing not done by Dave! Topics about techniques, styles, theory, and other guitarists go here.

Good Songs to play in a band...

Unread post by i-am-me » Mon Feb 02, 2004 1:17 am

Help me out here....we have a pretty wide taste in music. we're not amazing yet...so yea. simple is good though! beatles are good....red hot chilli peppers...dave of course....anything really.

just anything you think will sound good in a band that's just starting out together, put em down here. thanks!

I would go for something simple, but crowd pleasing, something like... Tom Petty - Free Falling, Staind - Outside, Floyd - Wish You Were Here, I just learned Blackbird by the Beatles, nice song to do alone. Of course Dave is good! ;-) Counting Crows - Mr. Jones, Everlast f/ Santana - Put Your Lights On, Hootie and the Blowfish - Hold My Hand, and Let Her Cry. If you know any Skynyrd of Zeplin, those would work extremely well :-D Well, that's what I've got for now, hope those help ya out, good luck man!

LOL, No fucking shit. I went this year to Halloweekend and that's all they played pratically, I hate that song for like a month straight after that ;-)

Just learned "Give a little bit" by Supertramp and "Hotel Californa". I'm sittin here all alone and they sound awesome. Ofcourse, they sound good with a band too :)

a sweet tool song is 46 and 2. it sounds real sweet acoustic. a cool band dynamic on top of that would be an awesome cover.
