Don't post in here much, but found a recording I made a while back on my computer today. Looking for any critique or comments you guys might have as this is far from perfect. Put it on purevolume so you don't have to download my scrapiness onto your computer. Thanks in advance guys.

Sounded good despite only hearing it out of my left speaker. No critiques really. It's definitely open mic-worthy. You nailed the weird strumming and the grainy quality of your voice was pleasant to listen to. Good job.

Sorry about the shitty quality, I was not the one working the switches. I did this at my high school and it was someone from the Intro to Studio Recording class that recorded me. To answer your question Ian, I actually only had time to play it once because there were so many other people that needed to go so yes it was done in one take.

very smooth, mark. I think the one thing to nail that song is to get the "smooth" that John Mayer puts into it, and you did a great job there.

I agree it's very good. I would, however, suggest you import that into Audacity and adjust it to make it stereo (or at least mono in both speakers). I think it can be done pretty easily. Unless you just wanted to rerecord it .
Edit: yeah you can, just import it into Audacity and click the heading for the track on the left and select split stereo track and then delete the one without any sound. It will automatically play the mono signal in both earphones.

Like everyone else has said, great vocals and strumming. I still get frustrated every time I try learning this song from not being able to clearly hear the change from 13 to 14 on the D string and I give up. If I ever get to learning it though I'll post it up here.
