Help with "Stay"

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

do you guys leave the B and high e strings open when you're playing Stay and just mute the low E and A strings, or do you mute everything other than the D and G strings?? (this is in regards to Dave's style)

I mute everything except the the D and G strings. And so does Dave ;-)
