Here it is, Some Devil. A few words of precaution, I have no idea why, but on that verse riff with the slide, those two strings squeak like a motha. So if anyone has any clue why, let me know. I just recorded this and I also did one last night and it didn't squeak at all. I don't know what it was, but it squeaked no matter how hard i had my fingers on em. Maybe I need new strings. Anywho, I missed/butchered a note here and there, nothing new with me. Sorry, no vocals. I can't, or just don't have the balls to. :lol:

its not bad, but did you put a whole truckload of effects on it? sounds really distant

yeah i know :oops:

it was my first time messin with CEP 2.0... i tried to get it sound like dave, but ended up messing around with it for awhile. I don't even remember what I did to it anymore

eh thats alright - get an electric baritone if you wanna do it dave style, and don't worry bout singing man - i'm bad but its fun to try

well i would, its just that i have never done it before. and some devil is the kind of song where you HAVE to go all out or else it'll sound like poo, and when you live in a suite with 3 other guys......well, ya know whats up

Hey man, you can ask the people around here, they think I sound like shit.. it's all good. But doing it only helps you improve.. and intend to wow everyone.. soon.

true, and i don't know how you sound, but your and fire's cover of Use of Time was by far the sweetest cover I have heard by anyone, including popular bands. You definitely gotta do another 311 cover, you should talk Phil into doing "Lose" cuz thats my fav song and has some sweet solos in it. anywho, thanks for the advice

that last part is way too harsh. sort of jarring, and if you tried to sing it, it would totally detract from the vocals. try to tone it down a bit.

there's too much inconsistency with the volume in the beginning of the verse, too. sometimes it's perfect, othertimes it sounds like you're having difficulty doing the slides and getting them to sound out, which is understandable on an acoustic.

the transition into the chorus is also loud. the chorus itself was wonderfully played, probably because it's not too difficult.

but then going back into the verse you get that hard, loud attack that disrupts the smooth flow of the chorus.

i'd like to hear some vocals on it, though, even if you suck because i suck too, so it's all good.

needs some work and practice, but it could sound excellent.

yeah I know what ya mean about that last part.... I think it sounds good but I kinda strum it a little too hard, and I didn't mute the D string which made it sound a little weird.

About the verse... I had it sounding perfect before, but I think I wore the coating off my strings cuz I even made a recording of it and there wasn't nearly as much sqeaking. I should of kept that one except there were a lot more errors.

I was kinda bummed how the volume of the slide was so much more exaggerated cuz it doesn't sound like that live.

The chorus, as easy as it is, is pretty fun to play.
I wish I never sold my electric dammit! :evil:

about vocals....eh...I dunno. I actually have no mic here at school so I can't for the time being. I got a shitty one at home but that will make me even sound worse

no problem, speen. you requested help, so here i am!

and it sounds like coated strings would've helped a lot, because there are a bunch of slides, etc.

it may have been the effects you put on that made the slide sound exaggerated, but we'll never know because you don't know either. :lol:

and the chorus is fun. i play the entire thing a little differently (not like dave) so that's how that is.

and don't worry about the vocals. i know what it 's like not having any equipment to record (no instruments to record, in my case).

anyway, keep posting! you'll get more long drawn out critiques from me.

don't let that keep you from it. hehe.
