All you bassists, help me

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

All you bassists, help me

Unread post by i-am-me » Mon Jan 26, 2004 3:53 am

now then...i'm wondering. what's a good bass for a friend of mine to start out on? cheap, very cheap, but usable? anyhting?

and what dave songs (or any other band) should he learn first? just to get him into the feel of bass. i've got a couple coldplay and beatles songs lined up for him...but i would like to know from your perspective.

thanks guys.

teach him walking bass lines, they have really helped me to get my fingers moving fast for harder stuff, you can start them slow and get faster and faster...and they help you to warm up before playing.
here is an example: (12 bar blues)

(paste into notepad or courier new font)
