Best headphones

Unread post by sfmartins » Wed May 28, 2008 4:53 pm

My Bose in-ear phones were stolen!

I am in the market now, but going for real headphones (not in-ear).
I was thinking about the Bose On-Ear Headphones:

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

I ended up buying from Grado Labs. They are pretty impressive: much better than bose and half the price...

I've never been dissatisfied with Bose, but they are very overrated and overpriced.

After a long, extensive search for some headphones for work, I ended up buying some $10 Phillips buds at Target that sound awesome. I also have some JVC memory foam ones that are great for blocking out other noise.

I need new earbuds, that sound decent, but they need to stay in my ears, I wear them for 7-8 hours at night doing heavy physical labor. The buds that came with my iPod fit perfectly. Any suggestions?

im a big fan of the sony headphones at best buy for 40 bucks. Sorry I don;t know the specs but they cancel noise pretty well and come with three different earbud sizes. They are the wrap around the neck kind if that bothers you though.

Those won't fall out, will they? I mean, what if I shake my head around? I only ask 'cause I'm constantly moving around and lifting shit all night, and the iPod buds stayed put for well over 8 hours. This is important to me Eric.

i wear them when I run and hit golf balls, like i said they come with three different sizes soft earbuds so you should be able to put them in snug no matter how big or small your ears are. the only problem is they have a history of cutting out on one side after a while. Im on my second pair and I'm past the 90 day warranty so *fingers crossed*

edit: plus having the right side cord go behind your head there is less slack to worry about pulling them out from in front of you

Instead of each ear bud being equidistant from the splitting point, the right one is longer so you have the long string behind your head as opposed to both in front of you.

So . . . haven't bought any. Buds are just not working for me anymore, they're more irritating than anything. So . . . other suggestions for over the top of my head kinda things? :)

I want a pair of these really bad, google the name: Sennheiser OMX70 Sport Earphones

They have the wrap around ear style which keeps them from falling out really well. I used to have a pair that I loved for running and working out, never even had to adjust them, they stay put perfect. The old ones I had died after a few years, I think from sweat. These ones are sweat proof/water proof. I use the regular iPod ones now for running and every quarter mile I find myself pulling them out, adjusting them, trying to jam them in my ear so they dont come loose, so annoying. Im buying these ones first chance I get.

Compared to which brands? Bose make the best ear bud headphones for under 100 bucks and if you think they are overpriced, I have seen earphones that are 1300 so don't complain. And Bose sound ten times better then anything else in that price range, I have tested various brands with headphones around 100 dollars and the Bose sounded best and didn't kill your ear drums like the cheap shrill pieces of shit you buy for 15 dollars.
