So I played a Corvette today.

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

I must say, even though it's heavy as hell, I want it. It sounds SO hot and beefy. Plus what's better then making the entire guitar center suffer through 20 minutes of dave matthews band songs. It was fretless 4 string, had the markers on the side, etc...just looked and sounded hot. Let me say if you are looking for a mid- or low-high end guitar look at these. Beautiful basses.

Yar. Beautiful bass, indeed. I've yet to find a bass that feels and plays sweeter than a Corvette. Some of the higher end Warwicks (Dolphins, etc.) don't feel right to me at all...shrug.

I love my 5-string Corvette, tho..even if it is Warwick's 'cheap' Rockbass line. Bass still has that signature growl to it. \m/

I've played Dolphins and Streamer Stage IIs, and when I compare the 'feel' to a Corvette...it's not the same. The 'vette fits me like a glove, especially since my hands are not huge. Feels very comfortable and natural. I'd much rather have a bass that I can perform with comfortably than have a bass that performs well...but is uncomfortable.

Aye. The dolphin is nice, but i don't think the sound sounds 'right'..hard to explain. the corvette is oh so silky smooth.

I'm seriously considering buying that 5-string rockbass corvette. Would you recommend it?

Very highly...it's my baby. :)

I played about a dozen or so basses while shopping for that one. And this one felt right. I would definitely recommend checking to see if the sound it makes fits your style, tho...the growl can be a bit much at times...dunno if that'd bother you, heh. The growl isn't like the higher end Warwicks, but it's definitely there. And as I've mentioned before, my hands are a bit on the smaller side...the Corvette allows me to get a lot more done a lot easier.

Play it and love it. :)
