Beatles: In My Life cover

Unread post by horsmar15 » Sun Jan 18, 2004 8:26 pm

Hello again, I know i've been posting alot of songs latley, but I have had the time so I figure i'll do it while I can. After I listened to themaker's version of somedevil there was a link on his post for a tab website. There I found out that Dave had covered the Beatles classic "In My Life". After that I got the original and the Dave versions, and ended up playing my version a little different. Well here it is kind of spur of the moment. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed playing it. Peace!

(by the way, I finally decided to give a direct link to the song. I don't know what I was thinking before)

nice job. i was a bit hesitant toward the slapping technique at first because i normally think of this as a sorrowful slow song, but i think the slaps fit it well. Nice vocals too.
all in all, a slightly different approach that what i'm used to, but it was very nice.

Damn dude that very nice. I enjoyed listening to this very much. I even liked the rhythm of yours better than this slow rhythm that Dave did at the JL tribute show. And your voice was very good too. The really only thing to criticise is that the volume of the guitar was a bit too weak. You should boost it a bit more next time. But regardless of this little thingy, awesome job man.

Can you give me the tab you used? I think I need to learn this!

i agree with Bo...the only thing is the volume of the guitar. You've inspired me to learn this song. Great Job on the vocals too.

Can you post the link to the tab you used?

Thanks for the responses. Regarding the volume of the guitar, there was nothing I could do about it due to the fact that I record guitar and vocals on the same track at the same time. Basically, it is me playing live in front of my computer :D . I could do a different version in cool edit pro and pump up the guitar, if I have time to do it. One more thing, I got the tab from http://www.geocities.com/ericwormann/SongList.html.

The guitar is solid. Concerning vocals, it sounds like it took you a phrase or two to get up to full speed. The first part of the second verse is stronger than the first. It's a pretty nitpicky comment, but it's something to work on. Thanks for posting this. I like it.
