Dave & American Idol

Kinda new to posting so forgive me if this has been brought up before, If Dave were to audition on American Idol, would he be selected to win or would he be canned? Nevermind his guitar playing, let's base this soley on voice.

american idol is based solely on voice and he wouldn't win because he isn't what the pop culture is looking for in an 'idol'...they're looking for young kids, not grown up guys

well based "soley on voice" and not age, i dont know if he would win or not. hes not that popular to the "pop" crowds, at least to my experience, so i dont know how well he would do in a pop contest. they might select him to move on but i dont think he would win.

he doesn't have the american idol look when he sings...as he comments on in storytellers, lol

although that one guy made it last night who simon said everything about him was old. He looked kinda old, sounded old, but had a good voice and he made it so ya neva know. I think he would make it to the next round, but like you said, he doesn't have a very "poppy" voice.

I definitely don't think Dave would make it through. I think Dave has and awesome voice, but you probably heard Simon or Randy say to people " you're not right for THIS competiton" I don't think any of today's popular artists would make it through based on the show's standards. Just my opinion...

..This is crazy..I just asked myself this question the other night when the new American Idol came on, now I come here and here is someone else asking the exact same thing!! Haha but as for whether or not he would make it, I thing way too many people are hung up on the "I hate his nasily voice" complaint for him to make it. Heh, even one of the teachers at my school made that remark :roll:

Who knows if he would get on besides randy paula and simon, but it doesn't really matter now does it

8) yeah, thats what i was getting at, the fact that his voice would fit into the "pop" category to make billions of dollars is what is his drawback.

it would suck if dave won american idol.. cause then tons of loser people would start liking dave and thinking he is their type of music..
