Price for nut and saddle installation

Unread post by Lexington Steele » Wed Jan 21, 2004 4:30 pm

The guy at sam ash said he'd put a new nut and saddle in my guitar for $70, plus the cost of strings. Is that too much. It sounds rather steep to me.

hmmmmmmmmm.

i just had a bone nut installed and it cost me $40.

i was going to have the saddle done too but my pickup is underneath it so i just left it but that WOULD have cost $15.

new elixers :D cost about $13.

so as long as he's not giving you cheap strings thats about right :)

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I still hate you, but you have a pretty good collection of nudie magazines.

Well i took it in today. 85 bucks. He's cuting the saddle, nut, and doing a little repair work. My guitar has been making a wierd buzzing sound when i play something percussive. Turns out one of the ribs in the bracing came unglued from the back of the guitar. So he is regluing it for me. So i guess for all he is doing the price isn't all that bad.
