I'm using the Extra Lights as we speak, and I think they're just as good as the Lights. But that's just my opinion.

I used Martins for a while as well. I can't complain, just wanted to try something different. So it all depends on what is more comfortable to you while you play. I think that's the most important thing.

i think he means will it be ok to swicth to that gauge or will he have to make adjustments so it won't hurt the guitar.

i'm no expert but i don't think adjustments would have to be made for that kind of switch, but you better wait for one of the experts to get in here and tell you :D

Personally i believe you should try to move up on string thickness.. get the thickest your guitar can handle.. get a nice deep acoustic sound from it.. thiner strings, in my opinion, sound too twangy

it would hurt you down the line because playing with light ass strings makes your fingers weak as hell

it is caused by "action at the nut" as it is caused
the plastic at the end of the neck that stratles your strings it a bar to begin with. then it is filed down to the right height. if you have bussing, that is the culprit...or part of your tuners is loose,
peace.

it all depends on what you play...and what guitar you use. for a les paul, you have to use #10. they detune with #9's. acoustics have even more string tension, it makes them louder. so if you wanna solo and stuff, get a light guage.

you can solo with heavier than 9's, anything lighter than a 10 i hate playing because of the way they sound

soloing sounds better when you have heavier strings on acoustic, you just cant move as fast, but oh well-
