I used Martins for a while as well. I can't complain, just wanted to try something different. So it all depends on what is more comfortable to you while you play. I think that's the most important thing.

it would hurt you down the line because playing with light ass strings makes your fingers weak as hellsomedevil8 wrote:Currently using D'Addario exp lights on my martin. would it hurt if i switch to exp extra light or custom light?

it is caused by "action at the nut" as it is causedeze3484 wrote:i switched from medium D's to lights and they were heavily buzzing on me, sounded awful
the plastic at the end of the neck that stratles your strings it a bar to begin with. then it is filed down to the right height. if you have bussing, that is the culprit...or part of your tuners is loose,
peace.

Re: Switchin' strings
it all depends on what you play...and what guitar you use. for a les paul, you have to use #10. they detune with #9's. acoustics have even more string tension, it makes them louder. so if you wanna solo and stuff, get a light guage.fatjack wrote:it would hurt you down the line because playing with light ass strings makes your fingers weak as hellsomedevil8 wrote:Currently using D'Addario exp lights on my martin. would it hurt if i switch to exp extra light or custom light?
