Question about their new album.

Unread post by i-am-me » Tue Jan 20, 2004 1:26 am

When do you guys think this is gonna be done? after seeing the D&F show i can't wait to see the band live again. carter and boyd and roi and stefan! those are the guys! but that's beside the point. how long does it usually take to finish an album. (and everyday doesn't count. having ballard lock dave and himself in a room to finish off 12 songs in like an hour is not what i call an album)

I love that album. If I had half the talent he has, and be able to pump out 12 solid songs to be put on an album, I would be a God like he almost is, ;-).

Oh yeah... your question... I heard somewhere else on this board that it should be out by the end of the year, but I'm not quite sure on that though, so don't hold me to it ;-)

i heard that the summer tour is in the planning right now, obviously no tour dates yet. but most likely the new album won't be out by the summer, and because DMB isn't promoting any album, this summer tour might be like the last one. which, i think, was among his best tours ever.

Yea there is going to be a summer tour... and in fact I heard Boyd say on a video from their website that they will be trying out some of their new songs live to see how the fans react. So even when Dave is touring they have new songs ready to try.. amazing heh..

there's this one thing i've heard, don't remember which show (he's probably done it a lot anyway) but he just goes up to the mic in between songs and goes "a mumbahlafjasfjsadl;ifa" and the crowd goes INSANE with cheer! the funny thing is...i shouldn't be the one talking, cause i know i would chear for that anyway....lololol.

Yep, I'm definitely one of those people that are cheering, it's kind of sad, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but it's a lot of fun to do! You really feel left out if you don't do it, ;-)

I've walked around saying jibberish since I can remember, it's weird! I don't have any problems with it, but my family has to keep reminding me that I'm talking to myself, all I want is for people to cheer uncontrolablely when I make myself look like I should be put under the needle or something, hehehe, ;-)

dave said he was itchin to pick up some kinda electric guitar for the new album, which makes me uneasy. its good that they'll road test songs though, like every noneveryday album.

Why is there so much hatred for Everyday? Is it simply how it came about, with Ballard and scrapping what became Busted Stuff? I think it's as good as any other DMB disc, a little different but nothing terrible. When I bought it, the girl at the counter asked me if I was a 'real DMB fan.' I said sure, she told me to 'put it right back, i'll hate it.' I figure if I am a 'real' fan, I like most anything they put out, even if it means rolling with the changes.

There are some great songs on Everyday.
