just save a small picture on your computer
remember where you saved it
then in your profile, go down to browse in the avatar menu
find your picture and select it
voila

You need to have some sort of image editing software (Photoshop, etc...) and you need to open the photo in there and adjust its size to something that is less than 8k. Try getting some software off of kazaa or send the picture to someone that has the software and ask them to change it for you. I could probably help you, lemme know.Lying In My Grave wrote:how can you have a picture less than 8kb?? i cant get it that small.

I got this really phat picture of dave playing grey street (I think, because of his twelve string and his fingers in a Bm chord like in the chorus) at one of his verizon wireless ampitheater concerts. I want to make it my avatar, but even after I made it a jpeg and cropped it down to 7.86 KB, the stupid site keeps telling me that it is over 8 KB. I can't crop it anymore without cutting dave's head off or whatnot. I was wondering if you or somebody else knew a way make it take up less space without cropping it. All I need to figure out how to do is to make it smaller in demension without cropping it and simultameously reduce its usage of disk space. I'm pretty sure there is a way to do that.jsgksu wrote:You need to have some sort of image editing software (Photoshop, etc...) and you need to open the photo in there and adjust its size to something that is less than 8k. If you can do anything with it, let me know and I'll send it to you. If not, tell me if there is anyone you know who can and I'll send it to them.
Thanks!

Send it on over to me....jaredmanjr on AIM...and I'll do it for ya. By the way.... 7.86KB does not mean that it is less than 8KB. That's the appx size.....right click and go to properties then see how much the actual size is....lataDavy28 wrote:I got this really phat picture of dave playing grey street (I think, because of his twelve string and his fingers in a Bm chord like in the chorus) at one of his verizon wireless ampitheater concerts.
