When we start talking about the best guitar playes of today, please do not leave out John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. His guitar licks were my childhood, and he just keeps getting more and more inventive with each album. Agree? Disagree? I could care less, I know I'm right.

the style is pretty unique though. you can hear like 3 seconds of a chilli peppers song and know who it is, and i admire that.

john mayer blows dave out of the water in terms of guitar virtuosity. all these new singer songwriters are not dave copycats. there have always been guys out there with acoustic guitars doing great stuff. dave has opened the door for them again

to compare mayer's guitar work to avril's is just stupid.

dave is neither a mozart or a bach on the guitar.

dave is definitely very very good, but i think that some people need to listen to a little more music and try to drop their biases for a moment.

and finally, let me say that jason saying he would suck dave's cock is one of the funniest things i have ever read :)

They have had 3, but if you look at any Peppers song that mattered, Frusciante was on it, save for maybe "My Friends" with Navarro but thats it

So did Dave copy Cat Stevens because Cat played accoustic and sings folk like songs?
