D&T vs. D+F

Unread post by bmblmoo5 » Sun Jan 18, 2004 5:38 pm

now that the first (maybe last?) dave and friends tour has ended, and i know almost everyone loved it, i was wondering what would be better for the winter tour: dave and tim, or dave and friends? both have their pros and cons, of course...but i dont know which id rather have. the dave and tim at the beginning of the shows this winter wasnt the same as a normal dave and tim show, there was less/no dave speak, and they played pretty much from the same selection of ten or twelve songs all tour...what do you think?

Dave and tim for sure. i would muuuuuuuuuuuuccchh rather see a dave and tim show full on than dave and friends. i mean dave and friends was awesome, but a dave and tim show would have been better.

Dave and friends was/is nothing compared to Dave and Tim, or DMB. I could get the same quality show as the "friends" at a local bar. With the exception of Tim of course.

ok ok...Trey's definitely good, but compared to what? He didn't do anything that Timmy couldn't do with one arm tied behind his back.

i really enjoyed the D&F shows i went to in December, they were amazing. but DMB always takes #1 and i've never seen a D&T show before, but based off of just the intros that dave and tim did for D&F, i think i'd like that more.
but i still think the only thing that could top seeing Sweet Up and Down, would be a DMB LIOG or Halloween
it was the greatest thing to see

Wow, that had a lot of acronyms, and i don't know how to spell that apparently

i'd rather see d&t. from the shows i saw, i think trey dominated a little too much--there were times i got confused and thought i was at a phish show. not that there's anything wrong with that, but i'd rather be blown away by timmy than watch trey looking at whatever it is he looks at on the ceiling.

Ha! I said the exact same thing at my first (and only) phish show. "What the hell is on the ceiling that is so interesting?"

I dont know, trey is talented, for sure...but I dont think he's nearly as talented as "the phans" make him out to be. They practically think he's the second coming of Jesus.

True, but I was talking more about skill on the geetar. I think most rational people would say that dave is a great songwriter, and unique in popular music, but he's not vying to be the next Hendrix.

Now I think Dave is a great Artist, Musican, Singer-Song-Writer, but I don't think he could be the next Hendrix. No way!
