So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

On the whole, their employees are motivated only by commission and are not very helpful, so if you need detailed help, I'd much more strongly suggest going to a local store. They're going to be willing to take the time to help you and to get you the instrument for you.

Now as recommendations go, there are a tremendous amount of nice guitars out there. It's much easier for us to help if you can provide a price that you'd be comfortable spending. Some people are looking to start in the $150 range and others like to jump head-first into a $2000+ guitar. I wouldn't recommend either, frankly.
thats bullshit, i work there right now and am very familiar with all the local music shops in my area, and 99% of guitar store employees work on commission, regardless of how corporate they are.

i never bullshit anyone when it comes to music, i only try to help them out and make them the best musician i possibly can, and everyone i know who works there feels the same way. and besides, if you go to a "mom and pop" store where someone doesnt work on commission, what intensive do they have to ever have you come back in, they could be a dick and not think twice about it.

Great for you, ace. I'm relaying my experience. All I get at Guitar Center is some preppy dude who wants to show off his "mad bluesssss lick!!" and not help someone really decide on a guitar.

You use a lot of unconfirmed/made up statistics on the boards

but unfortunately, I have had the same experience(s) as Ryan, sorry.

 at the grammar

Obviously easier action will be easier to play, but might not produce the best sound if that's all you're basing your purchase on. Just really sit down at the store and play the hell out of each of them and decide what feels the best and gives the best sound you like. You can have the action adjusted and also use lighter strings if that is really an issue.

Why are you considering buying a guitar(s) without ever having played them...?
