Don't let me ruin my Martin!

Unread post by dcanes » Mon Jan 12, 2004 6:59 pm

I want all to weigh in...

Should I put a strap button on my Martin DM? :?

I recently got this guitar, and don't want to ruin it, or ruin the resale value, blah blah blah... but I can't stand tying the strap to the neck. It make it sit wrong, and it ain't comfortable at all.

What's the verdict?

if u get it done by a martin licensed repairperson you should be fine. Just ask the nearest place to you who sells them if they are licensed to repair Martins.

Just let the dealer do it and you are good to go.

Let me know what you think of your D-35. I just got one myself. Have you done anything to it?

Thanks

You're a Doctor, take it to the local Luthier. It'll be relatively cheap.

it's fine if you do it right, and won't affect the sound. do it wrong, though, and you could screw your guitar up. Just make sure who's doing it knows what they are doing, and has experience in this.
