I attended the Dave & friends show in Seattle last night. It was fantastic.
Dave started the show by playing 6 tunes including dancing nancies, bartender and LIOG with just Him and Timmmmy. Then the fun started when he was joind by Trey Anastasio Guitar of Phish, Ray Paczkowski keyboards,Brady Blad drummer and Buddy Mille. They started with Trouble and turned most of the songs on the Some Devil Cd into a high energy Show. A lot of the tunes like save me were transformed into rocking tunes. He also threw in a few covers like Peter Gabriel's Solsburry Hill, The Band's up on cripple creek, Rufus's tell me something good, The Beattles hey bulldog and Jim Hendrix's let me stand next to your fire. This show was a breath of fresh air for me. Having come away from his last few shows at the gorge less than pleased with Daves song selection. It was almost as good as Benaroya Hall. I give two enthusiastic thumbs up.
Oh almost forgot Emmylou sang with Dave also.

Yeah, this is seeming to become an outstanding standard for Dave and Friends, but unfortunately all the shows are very far away from me so I can't make it to any.
On the other hand, did you end up takin a video camera?

No I didn't even try because my camera is to big. I could have smuggled it in the show but would have required the assistance of a proctologist to get it unhidden.
That sucks that you couldn't catch this show. Keep your fingers crossed for a DVD release.

That was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. I put Tim Reynolds right up there with Knopfler and Clapton. He is amazing. LIOG was so good that Dave didn't even bother finishing it. The crowd gave Timmy a huge cheer and, by the time things were quiet enough to finish the song...there was no point. Hats off to Dave for just doing one of his..."Tim Reynolds" and launching into IBYU. It was a real treat to see Dave having so much fun. His dance at the end of the concert was hilarious. Also nice to see such fantastic guitar playing at a Dave Matthews show. I never realized how much I miss a screaming electric guitar at a DMB show.
All you folks in California...go see Dave and Friends!
