folsom dvd

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

So, I just got my l@ff CD and was wondering if I shoud get the DVD. I think the CD is ok, nothing too amazing. I don't think it is as good as Live at Chicago (that should be a DVD) or Listener Supported. I got a glimpse of it with my busted stuff cd, and I must say I was not impressed. Any feed back? ? ?
Sonmetimes I would try to catch her, but I never even caught her name.....

I watched the DVD the other day. I loved it. A lot of people don't like it because of all the Everyday songs on it. A lot of people hated the 15 minute Angel Jam. But as a DVD its much more active than LS , in that there's more camera angles (maybe too much) and that the band is more "into it" than LS. I say if you got the CD, don't bother buying the DVD, just wait for one of your friends to buy it and then watch it at their place or borrow it :)

peace,
Ken

I just finished watching the DVD and I think it pretty much sucked. Not that the band played terrible, but it looked like the people that made the DVD fucked with it way too much. If you are looking to learn to play songs by watching Dave's fingers, good luck. Anyway, so the setlist wasn't all that great either, although highlights were WWYS and Ants...nonhighlights were every song on everyday and some of busted stuff....It's worth having though because, hey, it's friggin dave matthews. LS is way better in my opinion...no, thats fact. peace

There is one way that Live at Folsom Field could have been saved (for me) and that is if they had played a full blown Recently. Maybe I should have sought out a tape of that concert before buying the DVD so I wasn't disappointed but, out of 5 concerts, I still haven't seen Recently and this is what really sold me. I was just a little bummed out to find there was no jam but a dive right into Diggin a Ditch.

I'm going to agree with the previous post that Listener Supported was a MUCH better DVD. The setlist was filled with nearly all my favorites with jams in all the right places and I never know which song to listen to when I put in it my player. Let's not forget the fact that you can also control the camera angle for certain songs. It's not the Folsom Field is bad - the band was intense that night and some of the songs are greatly appreciated. I really enjoy the Bartender, Recently, Ants Marching, and (don't hang me) even some of the Everyday songs like So Right and Angel.

I just feel the entire show is missing an element of spotaneity that made the Listener Supported concert such an enjoyable DVD. I will never get over how much that Jimi Thing rocks! I think I would also agree that I would rather have seen a DVD of Live at Chicago. Would anyone else mind watching Victor Wooten tear up the solo on #41 or Tim Reynolds going wild on Lie In Our Graves?

Just my long winded two cents...or I guess more like a dollar and two cents...

Peace,

Kevin

hey
while we are on the subject. . .
Does any one have a video of the live at Chicago Concert? I've seen clips of it so I know it exists. I've been looking for some time now with no luch. If some one could point me in the right direction. I have tons of concerts on CD if any wanted to work out a trade. Just let me know....

As for the l@ff DVD I think I'm going to hold off. Feed back hasn't been too positive.

I have the entire L@C concert I my computer. I am now trying to burn it to a SVCD so that I can watch it on my DVD player. I have already done this with Storytellers and some other bootleg Dave video. If anyone is interested in getting a copy of this concert let me know. My E-Mail is dagoba6@aol.com. The concert is in 3 parts, part I is 590MB, part II is 557MB, and part III is 649MB. It is not DVD quality but is very good you can see everything real good. It was originally posted by DMB out on the internet live for everyone to see. Some of the people who got a chance to see it recorded it on their computer live, while the concert was going on. If anyone has any other boot leg Dave Video that they would like to trade let me know.
