Yea I started learnin on a Yamaha FG series too... it was around the same exact price.Congrats on the purchase, but I agree. I learned on a crappy Yamaha FG series (~$200) for 8 years before my martin DM. When I started playing golf, I bought a used set first, and I'm still using it... just a general principle....

i have a d-35, i dotn knwo that ill ever really want another acoustic/ electric...it sounds, plays, feels, and responds like a dream...congrats with that man and keep playin,i agree with andy....tell em to lick your nuts and play with a pick...peace
