Clarify this, please.cmarti10 wrote:how am i supposed to play it around the whole fret board?
I don't understand what you're asking. You just play that pattern. Anywhere on the fretboard. Red dot is the root of the scale.

Re: scales confusion
You can play that pattern of notes anywhere on the fretboard - you're not limited to just that section of the neck. Once you know the notes/intervals in the scale, just apply that to the rest of the fretboard to find other places you can play that scale.

Re: scales confusion
Yeah that said it better than I did.
Re: scales confusion
awesome thanks! so those are just the first position of playing the scale? because it only shows around 6-7 frets of note playing.

Yeah, what's shown is just one position (or "box") that you can play that certain scale in. But like I said once you know the notes in the scale you can map it out across the whole fretboard to have a better view of your options.cmarti10 wrote:awesome thanks! so those are just the first position of playing the scale? because it only shows around 6-7 frets of note playing.

Re: scales confusion
This site really helped me out when I first started learning scales (and it still does):

Just pick the root and scale on the right
