Super Duper Accurate Some Devil Tab

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Super Duper Accurate Some Devil Tab

Unread post by jsgksu » Sat Jan 10, 2004 4:03 pm

Not really, but I just downloaded the video of him playing Some Devil from the Today Show yesterday off of sharing the groove and if you want to get a very accurate version of this I suggest you watch it (Kanter) its just him solo and its a close up on him the whole time. I dont really know the difference to tab between baritone and regular but heres my take on it.

Code: Select all

E:------------------------------------------------------
B:------------------------------------------------------
G:-----7/8--7/8\6-6----6h8-6\4-4----4--4-----4/------6--
D:-----8/9--8/9\7-7----7---7\6-6----6--6----------------
A:-----------------------------------------2-2/----4-4--
E:--0--------------7------------0---------3--3/---5--5--
                                       x3 x3 x3
I start off using my middle and ring finger, I use my thumb for the 7 on the low e, then switch to my index and middle for the --46-- chord. The whole song is played with your fingers, no pick. Listen to the song to get the feel for it.

Thats what I figured out, the video can be found here: http://www.sharingthegroove.org/msgboar ... adid=32935 its four posts down, posted by sammy. Its great quality and should help, its a bit torrent download by the way, so make sure you know how to do them and have the correct software.

Anyone check out this tab or the video, what do you think? I dont really come up with tabs very often, this is kind of a combination of rantings and the other guy who recently posted his (sorry cant remember the name) and then I watched the video and fixed and added some stuff, I think it sounds pretty good and Im wondering what the rest of you think. Lemme know.

Uh, thanks Cor, I guess. Anyway, what do you think, and Taylor, where ecactly do you think it needs work, I just changed a few things, added an extra chord on two parts, it sounds pretty good to me though. Anyone else play it, what do you think?

Sorry, i would have to disagree with that tab. He plays it in raised B tuning... Here's my stab at it based on the Today Show vid

Code: Select all

 b------------------------------------------------------------
F#----7/9-7/9\7-7------7h9p7--5--------------1---------3-----
 D-----7/9-7/9\7-7------7------6------x-------0---------0-----
 A------------------------------------x-----2---------4-------
 E---------------------------------0--x---3-----3-3/5---------
 B--0----------------0----------------x-----------------------

 b------------------------------------------------------------
F#------------------------------1-----1---------3------------
 D-------7----7-----9----7-------0-----0---------0------------
 A-----9------7-----9----7-----2-----2---------4--------------
 E--10------9-----7----5-----3-----3-----3-3/5----------------
 B------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Guys, I'm not sure of the difference between Raised B and Baritone could someone enlighten me :D

As for the standard tab that is the best one i have seen. I was just trying to highlight that he doesn't play it in standard. The tab i put up is the one he plays on the today show i'm just unsure of whether it's Raised B or Baritone :?
