Old dave or new?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

While this may be somewhat off topic....I like the Dave and Tim tours a ton, and maybe more than the shows with the whole band.... I still can't decide. I think that playing guitar, and being amazed by Tim, as well as being able to hear the guitar better makes me like the D&T recordings more. Hmm, I must think this over at some point :P

I don't think so...Yeah, he's older and that's a new phase of his life, but I think he has much more to say!!!
When i say that i mean when he first came out he had all these song that were his and he wanted to express them to others(and make money) and he did. But now he's older and things have changed for him and so now he's got to write these other songs about totally different things. I think it'd be tough to write as many songs as he has and to have people judging you on them.

Older Dave is definately better. Compare the older songs like The Stone, SMTS, Lie in Our Graves, Tripping Billies, Warehouse, Two Step, Granny, 41, or Crash to the newer songs like Gravedigger or Dodo or Save Me.

Not saying his new stuff is crap, but I'd have to say it doesn't compare to the older style Dave.

Although I think his voice has definately been getting better with time.

This is the kind of topic that everyone has an opinion on :!:
I'll admit it took me awhile to get into Some Devil. When I first got it I spent most of the time listening to the D&T bonus disk. But after awhile it really grew on me. Now rarely does a day go by where I don't listen to it on my commute to and from work. I guess where I'm going with this is that I don't think one or the other is better, just different. And sometimes different takes awhile to get used to.

yeah i do have to admit that once before these crowded streets came out everything after that i really had to listen to a lot for it to grow on me... everything before that i instantly loved, but all his new stuff has grown on me..i can honestly say that i love 97% of his songs, and the other 3% i still like.....

i listen to the old and the new and minus like Everyday. i like his new stuff a lot despite criticism. Some Devil displays some different effects and sounds usually found when he makes a alblum with the band. But the old stuff does have all the songs that i identify with him so i have to go with old.
