Guitar problem

Unread post by Twostep13 » Thu Jan 08, 2004 2:01 pm

I have a Ibanez acoustic electric, im not sure what model it is really, i got it for my birthday two years ago, and i didnt get an amp until after the warrenty was out, and when i plugged in i would get a loud scratching type sound when i strummed the string even remotely hard, kind of like bad TV reception.....i had a friend who palys guitar look at it, and when he would move the wires intside it would work better... is there anything I can do to fix it, or should i get it fixed prefessionaly? Also is it worth it to get it fix or should i just buy a pick up? thanks

Did you check to see if the built-in pickups batteries are charged? I had the same problem with my acoustic-electric with the sound being all fucked up and then i charged the batteries and it worked fine. Might not be your problem but its good to check. You might also want to check and see if all the washers are tight, i mean where you plug the guitar in. Sometimes that washer will loosen and you won't get constant pick-up. I don't have a whole lot of know-how when it comes to names and tech. shit but, just tryin' to help.
