Who else has lost motivation to play guitar?

I don't really know what it is... I just haven't felt like sitting down and playing in a while. The last time I felt like this, I started writing some stuff and it made me enjoy it more, but since then I've had some nasty writer's block. I'm just not feeling it.

If you haven't got one already, try electric. I know I felt as if I played all I wanted to play on acoustic and felt I was repeating the same songs over and over and not really getting anywhere. Thats why I decided I would get an electric for Christmas rather than a better acoustic. Right now I love playing both.

I've been playing electric for years now. Started off acoustic, but most of the time when I play out I play electric. I'm pretty versatile... Kinda a jack of all trades, master of none type of guitarist.

I really have the desire to play other instruments... I can do little bits of stuff on the piano and violin (both of which I have in my room up at school), and I also have a bass to play. I really wanna play drums but don't have the means.

I don't really care about playing a lot of stuff I hear anymore. it's weird.

I wasn't really playing that much these past few months, but ever since I got my new electric last week I have been playing non-stop learning a whole bunch of new stuff.

my acoustic seems to be sounding like shit since i got the action lowered, really tinny. i think it may be time for a new guitar but in no way can i afford one

I kind of lost my motivation to practice after my cousins son passed away. He encouraged me to start taking lessons.....then two days after the funeral my guitar instructor had a stroke while working as a DJ at a wedding. Cripes, this was all in October and it took me until this past Tuesday to get my motivation back to start practicing again. I suppose I was just so sad that I lost my umph to play.

Now my instructor is back and doing great and playing again. He and I chatted quite a bit during my first lesson back and didn't really play much but I think it opened up my eyes to a few things. So I am back on track and determined to practice and get it together.
