Angel, check out this tab

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

ANGEL

Note : 799 can also be 0221.. Even though I wrote this tab like this, I’m sure its been posted like this before. This is probably not what Dave plays, but it’s a kind of a neat alternative. I like muting a lot in this song, makes it sorta sound rustic!
ANGEL

E:------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B:---- --- -------------------------------------------------------------------
G:-------------------------9------------------x--x- x-------------------------
D:--------------9/ 11-----9------------------x--x- x----- 6-x-6-x-----9---
A:--------------9/ 11----------9/ 11/ 9----x--x--x------ 7-x-7-x-------9---
E:-------------------------------9/-11/ 9----x-x--x------7-x-7-x------7---

you are playing that in standard tuning....dave plays it on a baritone guitar. The official dmbtabs.com tab has

Code: Select all

Verse/Intro
First chord is NOT played to START the song
E:-----------------------------------
B:-----------------------------------
G:-----------------------------------
D:-9------------------------------6--
A:-9----9h11--9-------------------7--
E:-7--------------9h11--9---7h9---7--
        1_3 1 1_3 1 1_3

for the standard version and

 B:-----------------------------------
F#:-----------------------------------
 D:-9------------------------------6--
 A:-9----9h11--9-------------------7--
 E:-7--------------9h11--9---7h9---7--
 B:--------------------------------5--
         1_3 1 1_3 1 1_3

for how dave plays it.
you can check it outhere

okay okay.. This is an "alternative" to what dave plays in standard tuning. obviously i've seen the version of angel on this site. its similar to what he plays, but ive added some notes here and there, and replaced the hammer ons with slides.. i don't like playing it though because it sounds weak on an acoustic. hah, flame the Noob? you don't even know me.. your a joke.

Ryeguy,

I am sorry if I offended you, I did not mean to. I was just kidding around. I did start the name calling, so I am not offended by you calling me a joke- I meant it in a light-hearted way and I assume you did too. Anyway, I do think your alternate version is interesting, but, as you said, angel doesn't sound that great on the acoustic.

Who is this elliot you speak of? I seem to have some vauge memory of hearing that name. Oh well, I bet the person wouldn't be much enjoyable paying attention to, anyways.
