I usually use elixir mediums on acoustic and they are great strings and have an awesome tone. However, I am learning some music that is very fast/ has a lot of bends on acoustic guitar. I was wondering how big of a difference it would make in my sound and the playability of my guitar if i switched to lights. Also should just bare with it and keep these string and wait for my hands to get stronger.

Re: STRINGS!!!!!
I prefer the Elixir Light/Mediums. I believe they use Mediums for the heavier strings and lights for the brighter strings. Good combo and the bends would be easier on those higher strings. Give them a try.
And congrats for starting another strings thread

Re: STRINGS!!!!!
you have to consider that some guitars are braced for a certain string gauge. depending on your guitar it may or may not hurt your guitar to put a lighter gauge on them. Usually dreadnaughts, jumbos, larger models have medium strings. OM's are either or, and anything below that, OOOO and down, are lights.gunnar1104 wrote:I usually use elixir mediums on acoustic and they are great strings and have an awesome tone.
