Problem with "The Stone" video MPG???

Unread post by billywestom » Wed Jan 29, 2003 2:50 am

I downloaded the video of Dave playing The Stone on the Charlie Rose show from KaZaA, and every time I play it, it slows down the other programs on my computer. Anyone else have this problem, or did I get a bad file?

Video Problems

Unread post by dlantis » Wed Jan 29, 2003 10:03 pm

Although I'm never actually tried that video, it sounds like your having video card issues, probably because the video is so large. When you play a video file your computer has to store the entire thing in memory so your computer is running out of memory to use other programs, sometimes this even lingers after you close the video. You'll just have to deal with it unless you want to upgrade your video card (best) or you could try upgrading you ram. But it doesn't sound like it's a specific problem with that dave video.

thanks, but i already figured out the problem. i am downloading the avi file instead of the mpeg. the mpeg on kazaa is just messed up. it is that particular video, cause i have dozens of other dave videos and they are fine.
