Greystree Pro's...Question?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Greystree Pro's...Question?

Unread post by Taylor614CE » Sat Sep 08, 2007 7:31 pm

Hey, been playing Greystreet for about a day but have question in regards to the rhythm.

I was intially playing it kid of chopping...down stoking each chord in the
verse, till I realized it was a more full sound.

The rhythm is throwing me off...i'm flling it out by "struming" the first chord then move the 2nd and 3rd but there it gets choppy...then the 4th is full...

Anyway any tips on the rhythm (right hand movement) would be good.

Its not all downstrokes. The first and second chord are hit with downstrokes while the third chord gets hit with an upstroke i think. I don't have a guitar with me right now :(
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

Damn, if I had a video camera this would be a lot easier... What I do when playing it is keep my right hand moving in a 16th-note rhythm, more or less. So that ends up being

Code: Select all

   D D U D D U D D
E:----------------------------------
B:----------------------------------
G:-7----4---6---2----4---6---2---4--
D:-x----x---x---x----x---x---x---x--
A:-x----x---x---x----x---x---x---x--
E:-7----3---5---2----3---5---2---3--
You can see what Dave does with his right hand in this video
