Taylor 110
Sup Everyone,
I am in the market for a new guitar. I've been playing for about 2 1/2 years on an $80 Carlo Robelli that has surprisingly been a very good guitar. I feel however, its time for me to make my next guitar purchase. My price range is about $400-$700. What is the general consensus on the Taylor 110? I played one today and thought it sounded wonderful. Is it considered to be the one of the better guitars for its price range(it was $529)? Or are you just paying for the name? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. On a side note, while I was at the guitar store today I also saw they had an identicle Chet Atkins to the one Dave used to use. Are these considered hard to find guitars? Or are they pretty common place? It was the first time i'd seen one in a store.
Happy Holidays,
Alex

I got a Chet Atkins and no, they arent that hard to find. Ebay has them going out the wazoo and most guitar places I have been to has one or two. The Taylor 110 I think is a pretty decent guitar. You are going to have to go with was you think and not us. Also have one of the guys over there help you. They know a lot more then use, I am sure. Look at the more expensive ones too. Look at Martins. I dont know, just kinda browse and pick out random ones and play

The 110 does sound great but for $500 you could get something much better in my opinion, something that is solid and not composite bodied and has electronics. I think in the case of the 110 you are just paying for the name. If you can find them check out some alvarez's, awesome guitars.

Order from an online dealer!!! Taylor's consistent enough to be able to pull that off. I'd buy a Taylor I hadn't played. That should be able to save you enough bling, even in tax, to upgrade to a solid wood Taylor. Or go Ebay.
Or steal one, but not mine.

You're not very smart. Taylor's aren't as consistant as you may think. never buy something that you haven't played..Oahu wrote:Order from an online dealer!!!
