Hello Ya’ll. Someone told me there was this Forum called Reinier Matthews. Well, that happened to be me and I was curious what was on.

***First of all, pardon my English. I think it’s an awesome language, but I suck at it.

I noticed some comments where nice, some where constructive and some didn’t made any sense. I couldn't stop myself to introduce me to you and motivate my video’s.

The day I first heard about Dave Matthews NO ONE knew this guy in Holland. I really enjoyed his talent and music and in some way, I really could identify with his perspective of things and his lyrics. I picked up the guitar and learned some DMB tunes and had fun with playing them. One day I learned about YouTube and I posted some video’s. I just wanted to know what people think abroad… you know, just for fun. It was really nice there where lots of people who really liked it and now where able to see how it’s played… along the dmbtabs site and the tutorial video's.

I got a bit shocked of what people think I’m doing. Dress like him, cuts my hair like him, lip-syncing (fortunately better than Britney), taking credits for his music... Makes me sad.

I’m a regular guy doing what I like. I like soccer, so I play soccer. I love animals, so I have 2 cats. I like money, so I have a job. I hate school, so I finished that a couple of years ago. I love my girlfriend, so I like take her out to our favorite restaurant. I happened to like Dave Matthews very much, so I travelled around Europe to see this artist. I like music, so I play the music I like.

This is it:
- I play DMB tunes I think they suits me most. If it’s TOO close to the original, sorry. An Aminor is a Aminor and will always played the way it’s played.
- All the recordings are ‘live’ takes. Recorded at once. In SOME DEVIL I had to plug in an ear-phone to hear the guitar.
- Dave has the same hair problem as I do… it’s balding. I can’t help it… No matter how I cut my hair, it will always be like this.
- I wear the clothes I like. I never think: “what will Dave wear today”, or “What would Dave think”. I will always be the same Reinier; record on, record OFF.
- I like the reverb as it is. Don’t know why. Even my club-music has way too much reverb… but I like it.
- I do have some stuff of my own, but I suck!

This is it. Nice we got to know each other. Hope to talk with you soon. Maybe we’ll meet at a DMB concert; looking forward!

Welcome Brother... I wouldn't pay much attention to the critques which attack vs. aid...

This board is like anything else in this world.. A lot of good can come out of it.. but has the potential for a lot of bad.

Stay, post some original material, I and the others who truely breathe the music will do our best to listen, critique, and in the end help....

I think your covers are terrific and I have always enjoyed watching them. Keep doing what you do and forget anyone that says foolish things about the covers, chances are they are jealous anyways..

ok reinier is actually really good at covering dave... thats the only song where the reverbs that high.
